Se registran 975 especies, de los cuales 12 son peces, 5 anfibios, 37 reptiles, 271 aves y 62 mamíferos. Especies relevantes: Águila real, oso negro, cotorra serrana oriental y carpita de saltillo que se encuentran en peligro de extinción.
There are 975 recorded species, of these 12 are fish, 5 amphibians, 37 reptiles, 271 birds, and 62 mammals. Relevant species include the endangered golden eagle, black bear, maroon-fronted parrot, and Salinas chub.

Vegetation
Alberga 969 especies de plantas vasculares, 18 se encuentran en alguna categoría de riesgo, de acuerdo con la NOM-059 SEMARNAT-2010, y 10 especies son endémicas de la porción sureste de Coahuila.
Of the 969 species of vascular plants in the region, 18 are under some category of threat according to the NOM-059 SEMARNAT-2010 standard. Ten species are endemic to the southeastern portion of the state of Coahuila.

Restaurar áreas degradadas, favoreciendo la infiltración del agua y la calidad del hábitat de cuatro especies prioritarias:
El oso negro, la cotorra serrana oriental, el murciélago trompudo y el murciélago magueyero mayor.

the black bear, maroon-fronted parrot, Mexican long-tongued bat, and the greater long-nosed bat

- Producción de 20, 625 plantas de cuatro especies de pinos nativos
- Reforestación de 50 hectáreas degradadas
- Construcción de 50m3 de contras de piedra acomodada y 40 m3 de presa filtrante con maya da gavión
- Instalación de tres nuevas cámaras de sensor para monitoreo de la fauna
- Instalación de siete letreros informativos en sitios intervenidos
- Produce 20,625 plants of four species of native pines.
- Reforest 50 hectares that have suffered degradation.
- Build 50 m3 of stone retaining wall and 40 m3 of filter dam with gabion mesh.
- Install three new sensory cameras to monitor wildlife.
- Install seven signs with information at the sites intervened.

Se beneficiarán 40 familias de manera directa y más de 1,000,000 de personas que habitan la zona metropolitána de Saltillo, Arteaga y Ramos Arizpe.
Forty families benefit directly, and more than one million people living in the Saltillo, Arteaga, and Ramos Arizpe Metropolitan Area benefit indirectly.

La recuperación de áreas degradadas, reducción de la pérdida del suelo y el favorecimiento de la infiltración de agua en los mantos acuíferos.
Recover degraded areas, reduce soil losses, and enhance water infiltration into aquifers.
Con este proyecto, se recuperará parte de la vegetación boscosa perdida, se incrementará la distribución de algunas especies vegetales dentro de la sierra, así como el hábitat de especies endémicas en peligro de extinción
This project will recover part of the lost forest vegetation, augment the distribution of a few plant species around the Sierra, and expand the habitats of endemic endangered species.
